Morphing

The Daily Post had a Daily Prompt today called Morphing, and this is what it said:

Language evolves.

The meaning of a word can shift over time as we use it differently — think of “cool,” “heavy,” or even “literally.”

Today, give a word an evolutionary push: give a common word a new meaning, explain it to us, and use it in the title of your post.

And this is my response:

Unfortunately I could not think of anything and I did not want to spend more time trying to think of something because I still have dreams that I have to blog about, and so this Daily Prompt has left me stumped.

I am one of those people who is tired of new meanings being added to words that already exist, this creates more confusion and complexity in my opinion, and I prefer that people use words that already exist or create a new word if there is not an existing word that can cover whatever meaning or meanings that they need to convey.

The end,

I am like you and like people to use words that already exist. I was stumped on this prompt too. I ended up trying to make mine funny but I was also trying to show how our youth effect our language. Hence all the “slang” words that have now made it in not only our everyday speech but also are officially in the dictionary!!!! Blows me away. I like your post alot plain and simple and to the point! I mean that in the highest compliment. I wished I would have made my point clear like yours was! Happy blogging!

Hello Nananettie1969,

Welcome to the club, I agree. 😉

Thank you for the compliment, I decided to keep it simple because I was behind schedule on blogging my dreams from last night, and I had spent too much time trying to figure out how to answer this prompt; and so I got a bit frustrated because I just could not think of anything so I typed a simple response, and it turned out better than I had expected. 😀

Thank you for commenting. 🙂
