After what felt like half a year the free default WordPress theme Twenty Seventeen has finally been released on WordPress.com over Four (4) months late, which as far as I know is the longest that it has ever taken for a default WordPress theme to be released on WordPress.com after it had already been released on WordPress.org, but I could be wrong.

The Twenty Seventeen theme is probably the first free WordPress.com theme to ever have a video header option.

The WordPress.com Blog officially announced the release of the Twenty Seventeen theme today on their post called New Theme: Twenty Seventeen:

With such a late start on WordPress.com, I wonder how many people will even use or try the Twenty Seventeen theme now, and have most people already lost most of their enthusiasm for this theme after waiting so long?

Is the Twenty Seventeen theme good enough to get other bloggers like True George and other users to consider giving it a try or will it be one of the least popular default WordPress themes of all time?

In the over four months that the Twenty Seventeen theme was available on WordPress.org, how widely used was it during that period compared to previous default WordPress themes?

Will most users try the video header option, and what will most users think about it?

Thank you WordPress.com for finally releasing the Twenty Seventeen theme on WordPress.com. 👏
