What is it about?

This is how the Rotten Tomatoes describes this movie:

British director Neil Marshall’s directorial debut Dog Soldiers resurrects and embraces the low-budget horror-comedy.

Sergeant Harry Wells (Sean Pertwee) leads a team of British soldiers on a routine expedition to the Scottish Highlands.

The six men would rather be at home watching the game, but they are even more dismayed when a carcass lands on their campfire.

The next morning, they happen upon a severely injured Captain Richard Ryan (Liam Cunningham) and the bloody remains of his squadron.

Soon they are attacked by giant werewolf beasts and chased through the woods, only to be saved by zoologist Megan (Emma Cleasby), who explains some of the truth about the creatures.

They all take refuge in an old farmhouse while the threat of the monsters looms increasingly heavy.

Final Thoughts

I saw this movie years ago when I was at my former classmate DH’s house, I remember us having a pretty good time and laughing at a few scenes in the movie, especially during a certain kitchen fight scene.

I did not like it as much as some people did, I possibly felt that it dragged a bit at times, but it is possibly one of the better (not the best) werewolf movies; which is not saying much because they are using not that good.

A Dog Soldiers Inspired Movie?

I went to bed too late last night staying up trying to prepare some future posts, and I could not sleep at first so I listened to some music until I could sleep.

I did not voice record my dreams, and so now I can only barely remember part of the end of my last dream.

This dream was inspired by one of the posts that I was preparing before going to sleep about the movie Dog Soldiers.

My memory of this dream is super unclear, there was something involving a man, and this man seemed to be paranoid and maybe he was hallucinating and ranting about something in public involving his finger or hands.

The man raised his finger or hand in the air and he saw something that symbolized something to him, maybe something involving the end times or the arrival of something bad, and he was preaching / ranting about this.

There was a film crew who were about to start filming either a Dog Soldiers inspired movie or another Dog Soldiers movie, and the director or whoever who was a man with light-color skin decided to use the man in his opening shots for the movie.

Some of the film crew did not think that this was a good idea, they said that the man was clearly crazy and was not an actor, but the director wanted to go with this because he felt that it would make for a good opening to the movie and it would be authentic.

They started filming the man as he preached and ranted and raised his finger or hand in the air, and either they added a special effect and / or I saw what the man was seeing and / or I really saw the man’s hand transforming into what looked like the hand of a werewolf.

The man looked at his hand in shock and he said something, but I can not remember what he said.

But that is all that I can remember of this dream.
