What is it?
The 2015 Japanese anime (animated) science fiction action spy thriller movie Ghost In The Shell: The New Movie (Ghost In The Shell: Arise − The Movie).
What is it about?
This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this anime (animated) movie:
When the Prime Minister of Japan is assassinated by a mysterious cyborg, Major Motoko Kusanagi comes up as the prime suspect.
It’s up to the agents of Public Security Section 9 to discover the true nature of the murder, and clear Motoko’s name.
I first learned about this movie thanks to Chris Stuckmann’s review of this movie called Ghost In The Shell: The New Movie – Movie Review:
If it was / were not for Chris Stuckmann I possibly would have never known about this movie or the new short television show Ghost In The Shell: Arise that it was based on, and so thank you Chris Stuckmann.
My brother GC and I watched the short anime (animated) television show first, and then we watched the anime (animated) movie either last year or at the very end of 2015.
The show and the movie blur together to me so I have difficulty differentiating the two, I do remember that this movie is more action focused compared to the other Ghost In The Shell anime movies, and I do remember that I probably liked the first Ghost In The Shell anime movie better than this but I possibly liked this better than Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society which is possibly the worst of the Ghost In The Shell animated movies in my opinion but I could be wrong.
I like the trailer for this movie better than the movie itself, it is not a bad movie though and I liked it better than Chris Stuckmann did, and I think that they did an okay job trying to bring Ghost In The Shell to a new audience even though I wish that they could have combined the best elements of the Ghost In The Shell anime movies with the best elements of the Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex television shows and I think that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn should have still been the voice for Motoko Kusanagi.
