Not that long ago, I was contacted by WhatYouBlogAbout asking if I would share some of the reasons that I started my blog, and my response to the questions would be featured on the blog What You Blog About.
I agreed and now the post with my responses is on that blog under the title John Jr’s Blog:
Here is the text of my response on that post:
My blog is a dream journal and miscellaneous blog that focuses on me sharing my dreams every day, and sometimes posting about random things like: movies, television shows, music, videos, news, books, art, software, online services, memories, daydreams, poetry, quotes, products, and more.
Back in the early MySpace and Facebook (Fakebook) days, I did not like some of the limitations that services like that had.
I wanted a more flexible and open service that anyone could read and comment on even if they did not have an account.
Because I wanted my family and friends et cetera to be able to follow parts of my life shared online and be able to communicate with me.
So I tried various online services until I ended up on Windows Live Spaces.
No one I knew seemed interested in my blog at all, so I ended up deleting all of my posts.
Then my blog became a dream journal because I wanted to improve my dream recall again to the levels that I had back when I was a kid.
Dreams are an important part of my life and are one of the reasons that I am still alive today, dreams may often be fictional, but they often contain some things from our real lives.
So this allowed me to still share something from my life without having to worry about sharing too much personal stuff since they are just dreams, and because I dream almost every night.
So that would give me something to blog about each day.
Eventually I started to occasionally add and delete miscellaneous posts to go along with my dream posts, and later I moved my blog from Windows Live Spaces to WordPress.com when Microsoft cancelled Windows Live Spaces.
