What is it?
The 2017 Japanese anime (animated) fantasy adventure movie Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale.
What is it about?
This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this anime movie:
Experience an all new adventure with Kirito, Asuna, and their party members as they explore the world of “Ordinal Scale,” a new hit game utilizing augmented reality technology.
Players are about to find the line between the virtual world and reality beginning to blur and their worst nightmares coming true…
As his fellow players find themselves in danger, the hero is called upon once again–can Kirito save his friends, or is this going to be game over for him…?
What do I like about it and what might someone else like about it?
I liked the animation, the action, the technology, the concept, and I think that other people might like that as well.
Final Thoughts
This anime movie was better than I had expected, in some ways it was an improvement in the series, but it still does suffer from some of the same flaws like: the skipping of some important details, plot holes, and unjustified power-ups for some main characters.
The end,

I think my biggest issue with Ordinal Scale is that there’s no sense that this is unavoidable given the players could very easily have just turned off the VR. It makes most of the fights seem fairly pointless at the end of the day.

Hello Karandi,
For some reason your comment was in my spam folder, and so I unspammed it.
That was definitely something that I noticed and that annoyed me at the end of the movie, especially when Kirito was supposed to warn the players to turn off their AR (augmented reality) gear / whatever, but instead he started fighting and did not mention this to them until later.
Thank you for commenting,

No problem – wordpress does that occasionally and I still haven’t figured out why. Thanks for unspamming it.

Hello Karandi,
I am surprised that Akismet marked your comment as spam because it did not contain any links or anything spam-like, sometimes Akismet will spam comments with two or more links or that seem spam-like, but sometimes there are false positives (happens to me too sometimes).
I think that Akismet is supposed to somewhat learn and improve with detecting spam, so marking comments as spam and / or unmarking them as spam possibly impact what Akismet does and does not mark as spam, but I could be wrong.
Years ago I believe that someone marked one or more of my comments as spam, and then Akismet started marking my comments as spam until I reported this problem to the Akismet staff.
I have had to do this several times before, fortunately not that often, anyway you are welcome and thank you for commenting.
