What is it about?
Armored cars sail the sky
They’re pink at dawn
If I lived forever, you
Just wouldn’t be so beautiful
As the sun
When it shines
All over the world
We’re pilots watching stars
The world preoccupied
We’re pilots watching stars
Who do we think we are
Ice and clouds shimmer outside
Rain just falls
At magic hour
It’s just the sound
Of you and me
Time twitching
Murmurs of
Our friendly machine
We’re pilots watching stars
The world preoccupied
We’re pilots watching stars
Who do we think we are
It’s just the sound
Of you and meSongwriters: Alison Elizabeth Goldfrapp / William Owen Gregory

My Thoughts
A couple of years ago I was watching a let’s play of the video game Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines when I heard part of this song during The Ghost Haunts At Midnight mission, and so I looked around the internet trying to find the name of this song and who it was by, and fortunately someone on a forum or message board had mentioned the name of this song and the music group it was by so I was finally able to find this song.
I like Alison Goldfrapp’s singing and voice in this, and I like the smooth and calming and unusual instrumental music; and how these things combine to form something that feels classical(?) / classic and surreal and electronic.
I did not realize that there were two different versions of this song until yesterday, so anyone reading this, which version do you like better?
The end,
- John Jr
