The anime is a direct sequel to the first season of Tokyo Ghoul:re, and covers the final arc of the manga.

Final Thoughts

This was possibly somewhat better than the first season in some ways, but like the first season I do not think that either of these seasons needed to exist; and neither were probably better than the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul.
