What is it?

The 2018 horror action movie The First Purge.

What is it about?

This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this movie:

Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness.

Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge.

To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.

But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

My Thoughts

I possibly saw this movie last year, to my surprise I liked it better than I thought that I would, it had some flaws like it being cheesy at times and some of the main characters were not the people that you would usually support; but I like how there were some positive messages in this movie of some people coming together as a community, and that there is hope for humanity.

Some of the main characters were overpowered though and had combat abilities that went beyond what they should have, but it went with some of the cheesy fun action parts though.

This is not the greatest movie but it was better than some other The Purge movies, and I liked it better than some critics; and it is the kind of movie that you watch once together with someone on a rainy day for fun.

The end,
