My Thoughts
When I first saw the trailer for this movie I wanted to see this movie, and the trailer had a mysterious psychological horror science fiction feel to it that reminded me of the trailer for the 2013 movie Under The Skin:
It was also cool to see that Robert Pattinson was in the movie after being surprised by the last movie that I saw him in, which was the 2017 movie Good Time, and so I was curious to see if this movie would be a surprise movie that I would end up liking better than expected.
I would have watched this movie sooner but my brother GC did not want to watch it, recently I learned that my female coworker JB was going to watch it soon, and so I decided to finally watch it before she does so that after she watches it we can both share our opinions of the movie with each other.
Unfortunately I was a day too late to warn JB about this movie, and she was a day too late to warn me because she watched it the day before I did.
This movie was one of the most disappointing movies that I have seen this year, I had higher hopes for this movie, but it is among the worst movies that I have seen this year; which is sad because there are a few good things about it, but it is a mess.
This movie was too long, this movie was too boring, this movie was too unclear, this movie had little story or backstory, the audio for the dialogue was too low and / or to unbalanced with the rest of the audio and most people spoke too low so it was hard to hear them, the acting was often tired and flat, it was a bit strange and unnecessary at times, it was incomplete and jumbled, it did not make much sense, et cetera.
I did not know any of the characters names, I did not know what was happening on Earth, I did not know what their real mission was exactly, I did not know why certain characters did what they did, I did not know how time worked in their world, I did not know what happened at the end, I did not know that certain characters were not prisoners until later in the movie, I did not know what crimes did most of the criminals commit to be in prison, et cetera.
This was less a movie and was more of a movie rough draft that was somehow still too long, this movie could be improved with editing to remove the fat, fix the audio, and then insert details like a back story and a complete story so that the movie can make enough sense to follow.
There were some nice-looking moments but this movie was a mess, please do not watch it unless you have time to waste and/or you think that you would like a movie like this, you are better off watching the trailer for this movie (which is in this post) because the trailer is way better than the movie.
Just watch the trailer and then watch a better Robert Pattinson movie like Good Time; you will thank me later. 😀
