What is it?
The 2019 horror film Child’s Play.
What is it about?
This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this movie:
A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.
My Thoughts
This movie was better than I expected, especially for an assumed low-budget movie that was a more modern take on the Child’s Play franchise, and so my brother GC and I liked it more than most critics did.
This movie was pretty consistent, except for the kills often being more comedic than the rest of the movie, and it was paced better than some films so it did not drag on as much as many movies these days.
The new modern twist on the franchise was more relevant and believable, and it was slightly Black Mirror-like in some ways.
My favorite part of this movie were the early scenes between the character Andy Barclay and Chucky that were partly sad but also joyful.
I would probably give this movie a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
The end,

Halloween and now Child’s Play. Looks like Hollywood is rebooting a bunch of the classic horror films from my youth, Mark Hammil voicing Chucky is something I never would have expected, but then again he is an accomplished voice actor. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the movie more than the critics.

Hello The Otaku Judge,
Yeah, and usually it does not go so well; but at least they did not ruin it with this remake.
From The Joker to Chucky, who will he voice next? 😀
Thank you for commenting,
