What is it about?
This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this television show:
Out of an epic 25-year battle in which angels led by Gabriel (Carl Beukes) fought humans and their ally, the archangel Michael (Tom Wisdom), comes an unlikely hope for mankind in this supernatural drama based on the characters from the 2010 movie “Legion.”
Set in the fortified city of Vega (formerly Las Vegas), where an elaborate caste system is now in place to manage the Earth’s war-depleted resources, Series 1 begins with a young soldier named Alex Lannon (Christopher Egan) learning he is “The Chosen One,” a revelation that leads to all sorts of turmoil, both personal and political.
On top of this heavy responsibility, reluctant hero Alex is in a romance with Claire Riesen (Roxanne McKee), daughter to the city’s ruler Edward (Alan Dale).
Their love seems doomed, however, since not only is she his superior in social class, but her father demands she enter into an arranged marriage with religious leader William Whele (Luke Allen-Gale), son of the powerful and ambitious David (Anthony Head), for the betterment of Vega.
Little do they know, William has a hidden agenda—and a secret alliance—that is aimed at causing more harm than good.
Inspired by the 2010 film “Legion,” “Dominion” follows the journey of Sergeant First Class Alex Lannon (Christopher Egan), a rebellious soldier chosen to save humanity from a band of evil angels.
In Season 2, as the fight against Archangel Gabriel (Carl Beukes) and his army continues, Alex leaves the city of Vega for New Delphi in hopes of forming an alliance with that city’s powerful military leader, Julian (Simon Merrells), a cunning man with questionable motives.
My brother GC, maybe my aunt JE, and I are the only people I know who have seen this television show.
We watched this show several years ago, and my brother GC and I liked it better than the movie Legion.
I liked the premise of this show, some of the acting and some of the characters were better than expected (I did not like the main character though), and the show ended up being better than I had expected; but I did not like season 2 as much as season 1.
I think that it is interesting how instead of demons possessing people, this show had lower level angels possessing people, and this show involved just humans and angels; and God, demons, The Devil, and the fallen angels did not get to make an appearance.
It is a shame that this show got cancelled before they could finish it, this show was better than the television show Lucifer, yet it got cancelled earlier; in some ways this show somewhat reminds me of the television show Kings, which also was not well known, and which also got cancelled early before they could finish it.
