What is it?
The 2019 American superhero drama television show Watchmen (Season 1).
What is it about?
This is how Metacritic describes this television show:
Set in an alternative 2019, where there is no Internet, Robert Redford is president, and the police wear masks to protect their identities, Tulsa police detective Angela Abar (Regina King) investigates the return of a white supremacist terrorist group inspired by the now-deceased Rorschach in the Damon Lindelof series based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel of the same name.
This was among my favorite television shows of the year and was my second favorite superhero anything from this year after The Boys (Season 1).
This show as much less superhero than I had expected, it had a slower build up that left you unsure exactly what was going on but it slowly brought you into the world, and so it was like a mystery show in some ways where the mystery is slowly being unveiled.
The very first episode threw you into something based on a real event that I did not learn about in school, it was risky and bold, but I liked it and I think that it was worth it; and I am glad that someone is bringing some light to this terrible event from the past even if it was on a fictional television show.
This show was intelligently written with more twists than anything that I have seen this year, it had a unique look and feel to it for a superhero show, and it is worth watching.
