What is it?

The 2019 mobile phone Motorola Moto G7 Play.

What is it about?

This is how Motorola describes this mobile phone:

Don’t let the small size fool you.

With a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 632 octa-core processor and an ultrawide 5.7″ Max Vision HD+ display, your games, movies, and photos load fast and look stunning.

And you’ll never miss a moment with a fast-focusing 13 MP camera.

It’s available unlocked for major U.S. networks like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

Check carrier compatibility.

This is how Wikipedia describes this mobile phone:

The G7 Play is the least expensive variant of this generation.

It has the widest notch in comparison with the other variants, and this means it is the only one with front facing flash.

Moto boasts that it has a 60% performance increase compared to the last generation.

Also in the last generation its selling feature was the largest battery capacity with 4000 mAh, however this has been reduced to 3000 mAh.

My Thoughts

This is our first unlocked phone, our first phone with the Android operating system, our largest phone, our most expensive phone, our best phone hardware wise.

I bought this phone for most of my family and I at the end of November, and it is better in almost every way than our previous phone which was the Nokia Lumia 635 (512 MB Edition) with an outdated version of the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.

So far we have not had any crashes and most things have been smooth, but Android does have an issue with so many settings and they are too scattered around and less user friendly than Windows Phone.

I do not like how user unfriendly and limited the accessibility features are for Android, so far we seem to be missing a default way to have the names of who is calling and texting spoken out loud, and the option to have the Google Assistant ask if you want a text message read out loud or not like Microsoft’s virtual assistant Cortana could; but maybe I will figure this out eventually or will have to find an app that can do this.

This is our best phone ever so far.

The end,

-John Jr
