What is it?

The 2002 Japanese anime (animated) TV show Full Metal Panic!.

What is it about?

This is how Fandom describes this anime (animated) TV show:

The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of a covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a spirited Japanese high school girl.

He moves to Japan to study at Chidori’s school, Jindai High School, with assistance from his comrades Kurz Weber and Melissa Mao.

Having never experienced social interactions, Sousuke is found as a military maniac by his schoolmates as he interprets everyday situations from a combat perspective.

He comes to relate with Chidori who realizes that Sousuke is protecting her, but he does not reveal the reasons due to orders as well as the fact that he does not know why Chidori is being targeted by different organizations.

My Thoughts

I saw this anime TV show once years ago back in the early 2000s.

I remember the main character having a serious background with war and Afghanistan, and I remember a scene with some female characters relaxing and drinking some Heineken.

I either found out about this anime thanks to my former male classmate SS or an anime review website, I only saw it once all those years ago, and so I can not remember that much of it.

I do remember maybe a submarine that was probably the headquarters for the main characters, most of the characters around the main character were female, and there were some action scenes with mech-like suits and other military equipment that were probably serious.

The tone of this show would go from goofy to sometimes serious during the action et cetera.

The end,
