What is it?

The 2020 American spy thriller TV show Homeland (Season 8).

What is it about?

This is how Rotten Tomatoes describes this TV show:

In the final season, Carrie Mathison is recovering from brutal confinement in a Russian gulag.

Her body is healing, but her memory remains fractured.

This is a problem for Saul, National Security Advisor to President Warner, who has been dispatched to engage the Taliban in Afghanistan peace negotiations.

But Kabul teems with warlords and mercenaries, zealots and spies — and Saul needs the relationships and expertise that only his protégé can provide.

Against medical advice, Saul asks Carrie to walk with him into the lion’s den — one last time.

My Thoughts

After eight seasons Homeland is finally allegedly over, it is good that they ended it before it got worse, while it did not end as good as it had started with the first three seasons; it did not end that badly.

This season was not as suspenseful as it should have been considering the situations that were going on this season, but like each season after the first three it still did just enough to keep me watching.

They also had the character Carrie Mathison go some places and do somethings that you might not expect, and this season had me wondering how far she would go to achieve her goals.

While it did not live up to its full potential after the first few seasons it is still surprising that this show managed to survive this long and stay pretty true to real world events, even somewhat predicting some real world events, and it still managed to be watchable.

The end,
