What is it?
The 2020 Netflix American fantasy drama web TV show Warrior Nun (Season 1).
What is it about?
This is how Metacritic describes this TV show:
Ava (Alba Baptista), a 19-year-old woman wakes up in a morgue and learns the ring on her back means she was chosen to be a part of a secret group of demon-hunting nuns in this series inspired by Ben Dunn’s comic book series, Warrior Nun Areala.
My Thoughts
When I saw the trailer for this TV show I felt that maybe it had some potential with its premise, and so I decided to give it a chance.
I was predicting that I would like it a bit more than the TV show Motherland: Fort Salem (Season 1), and I did end up liking it better even though Motherland: Fort Salem did a better job with its characters and their relationships with each other.
This TV show had a slower start than it should have, there was not enough action, you did not learn much about most of the characters and their relationships with each other were not developed enough, I did not like the acting of the actress who played Shotgun Mary and / or how they wrote this character, this season ended too soon and abruptly, there were some plot holes, but I still liked it a bit more than I should have and I liked it more than my brother GC did.
This show has more potential, they need to explore the lore more, they need more action, they need better dialogue, they need better character development and interaction, a new actress should play Shotgun Mary and / or they should improve her character and weapon choices, and then this could be a better show.
I still think that it is worth watching at least once because it is not too long, and it is something different.
The end,
