Set in 2001, two years after the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Koichi Hirose is sent to Italy and tasked by Jotaro Kujo to search for Giorno Giovanna, an aspiring mafia gangster who is a son of Dio Brando.
But as Dio possessed the body of Jonathan Joestar at time of his conception, Giorno is technically a Joestar and takes more after them than the father he never knew.
The series follows Giorno as he joins the mafia organization Passione, moving up through its ranks with the intention of becoming its boss to improve life in Italy.
My Thoughts
My brother GC and I watched this season on Toonami.
I liked this season better than the previous season, and it probably had the best opening credits for the series that I have seen so far with the Fighting Gold song by Coda:
I still think that this season went on longer than it should have though, and the ending was pretty abrupt in my opinion; but at least it was an improvement over the previous season, but it still has some of the same flaws as the other seasons like a lack of main female characters or female characters in general with much to do.
I do like how they improved the sense of friendship et cetera in this season, and some of the stand powers were creative.
I wish that they would have kept the mafia parts more grounded & focused more on that world, and the consequences of that at the end.
