Today we’re gonna talk about the Dune Encyclopedia.
Whenever this book is mentioned anywhere, you’re bound to see at least some people screaming at the top of their lungs: It’s not canon!
And while they are technically correct, many Dune fans including myself still consider the encyclopedia to be the definitive history of the Dune Saga outside the 6 books published by Frank Herbert in the main Dune series.
In this video, I will explain the history of the Dune Encyclopedia and how it came to be, as well as a bit about the controversy over what should be viewed as the official history of the Dune Saga.

My Thoughts
I also trust The Dune Encyclopedia more than Brian Herbert’s lore of the Dune franchise.
Brian Herbert needs to finally show the alleged notes of Dune that his father Frank Herbert allegedly left behind when he died, then maybe I will start to trust his version of the lore more.
