What Is It?
The 2022 HBO American science fiction dystopian TV show Westworld (Season 4).
Here is how Wikipedia describes this show:
The fourth season of the American science fiction dystopian television series Westworld (subtitled The Choice)[1] premiered on HBO on June 26, 2022, and will conclude on August 14, 2022, consisting of eight episodes.
The television series was created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and it is based on the 1973 film of the same name, written and directed by Michael Crichton. The fourth season stars an ensemble cast led by Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Aaron Paul, James Marsden, and Ed Harris.
The first half of the fourth season picks up seven years after the end of season 3 in 2060 while the second half takes place 23 years later in 2083,[2] and is described as a “dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on Earth.”[3] The season includes an amusement park modeled after the Roaring Twenties.[4]
My Thoughts
I was not exactly looking forward to this season after the previous season, but I hoped that this season would be better.
In some ways it possibly is, but it continues some flaws of the previous season and parts of season 2.
So I am not sure if I like season 3 better or season 4, maybe season 3, unfortunately, if so, then that means that I am liking each season less and less.
Season 1 is still the best season, and will probably always be the best season at this point.
After the first season, things started to go downhill, there was a change in quality in the writing and dialogue, and some other things.
The show still looks good and there are still some good performances.
I was disappointed in Tessa Thompson’s mostly one-note flat robotic performance & character, though, I am not sure what happened to her this season; she had the worst performance of the main cast, possibly the entire cast, in my opinion.
I still do not like Aaron Paul’s performance / character that much or believe him as a former soldier that much; but he did have his moments.
Fortunately, this show still has enough quality and mystery to be worth watching.
This season felt more contained than it should have, it did not feel like the world was at stake, it felt like just one city was at stake.
Episode 4 (Generation Loss) was possibly my favorite episode.
The end,
