What is it?

The 2016 American-German psychological horror thriller film A Cure For Wellness that was directed by Gore Verbinski and stars Dane DeHaan and Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs.

What is it about?

This is how the Metacritic describes this film:

An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps.

He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem.

When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.

Final Thoughts

I first saw the trailer for this movie at a movie theater when my brother GC and I went to watch the film Underworld: Blood Wars, the trailer for this film reminded me of the film Shutter Island, and it made me want to see this movie at theaters but Double Toasted and Angry Joe (Joe Vargas) gave it bad reviews so I did not watch it at theaters.

Chris Stuckmann liked the film, and so I assumed that I would like it more than Double Toasted and Angry Joe but less than Chris Stuckmann.

I just finished watching this film and I did not dislike it like Double Toasted and Angry Joe did, but I did not like the very end of the film which seemed out-of-place and it left me a bit confused and there were some unanswered questions still.

So like I predicted, I liked this film better than they did, but less than Chris Stuckmann did.

This film slowly leads you through a mystery having you trying to figure out what is going on, and it slowly gives you the clues until at the very end when you learn part of the truth but some things were still not explained.

Here is Chris Stuckmann’s review of this film:
