Today we’re gonna talk about the Dune Encyclopedia.

Whenever this book is mentioned anywhere, you’re bound to see at least some people screaming at the top of their lungs: It’s not canon!

And while they are technically correct, many Dune fans including myself still consider the encyclopedia to be the definitive history of the Dune Saga outside the 6 books published by Frank Herbert in the main Dune series.

In this video, I will explain the history of the Dune Encyclopedia and how it came to be, as well as a bit about the controversy over what should be viewed as the official history of the Dune Saga.
