Silent Hill is a 2006 French-Canadian psychological horror film directed by Christophe Gans and written by Roger Avary, Gans, and Nicolas Boukhrief.
The film is an adaptation of Konami’s 1999 video game Silent Hill.
It stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden, Deborah Kara Unger, Kim Coates, Tanya Allen, Alice Krige, and Jodelle Ferland.
The film follows Rose, who takes her adopted daughter Sharon to the town of Silent Hill, for which Sharon cries while sleepwalking.
Arriving at Silent Hill, Rose is involved in a car accident and awakens to find Sharon missing; while searching for her daughter, she fights a local cult while uncovering Sharon’s connection to the town’s dark past.
My Thoughts
I saw this movie in a movie theater back when it came out, the arrival at Silent Hill with the ash babies/creatures creeped me out, and this movie was better than the usual video game movie and it was not bad for a horror film.
For some reason many people seemed to not like this movie back when it came out, but I liked it better than the critics.
I barely remember part of three dream fragments, with the first dream taking place at my grandfather’s house when it was probably somewhat dark outside, and I went inside my grandfather’s empty house alone for some reason which I have forgotten.
My grandfather was still at the hospital, so I probably went inside his house to put up his mail & newspaper & to do a few other things, and at some point I decided to go up the stairs to the second floor for the first time in many years; in the dream the door to the stairs was not blocked off like in real life.
I expected to see many insects and spider webs and dust, but to my surprise it looked like someone had somewhat cleaned some of the second floor recently; and they even left the hallway light on, and so it was not so dark.
I started comparing some of my old memories of the second floor with how it looked now, I also thought about some of those old memories, but I got interrupted by a knock at my grandfather’s door before I could look at all the rooms.
I went back downstairs to answer the door and several people who I can not remember were at the door, I expected to tell them that my grandfather was in the hospital & briefly talk & then they would leave, but instead they wanted to come inside; and so I decided to let them inside briefly.
They stayed talking longer than I expected and I started to sense that my uncle CE was near, I did not want him to think that I was having a party at my grandfather’s house or something, and so I started to recommend that everyone leave; but I woke up.
Dream 2
The second dream is the least clear, I just remember that it took place during the day in a fictional place in a field inside of a one floor school-like apartment-like building, and I was in a room that belonged to my former classmate SS & his brother MS.
I remember them talking about something to do with a mafia / gang-like group who they did business with/worked for sometimes, even though they did not want to, but they were afraid about what would happen if they refused; the mafia/gang-like group probably had them do technical-like things, mostly legal stuff probably, but they still did not like helping a group like that.
I was going to try to help SS & MS with this situation but I probably somewhat got caught in a position where I was going to have to help the mafia/gang-like group too or bad things would happen to us and/or people we knew; I remember us trying to figure out how to handle the situation, but I woke up.
Dream 3
The third/last dream involved the actress Laurie Holden from the TV show The Walking Dead, she was appearing on a YouTube video with an unknown popular male YouTuber, and I was seeing the video & somehow I was also seeing some of the comments on the video & videos of some of the people who were watching the video as they were watching the video.
The unknown male YouTuber was sitting in a chair next to Mrs. Holden as they both were in front of the camera in a bedroom that was dimly lit, they both were in a good/joking mood, and so they were joking around at first to entertain themselves & the audience.
I remember them talking about something that involved breasts at some point I think, probably talking about a scene that she was in or some medical / scientific information, and so they were demonstrating this.
They talked and joked about various things very comfortably after that, but I woke up while the video was still going.
