The Backrooms is about a cameraman who, after tripping and presumably getting knocked unconscious while working on what seems to be an independent film project, wakes up in a bizarre, seemingly inescapable and deserted building.
Confronted with endless corridors, empty rooms and hallways mostly illuminated by sickly yellow corporate lighting, the cameraman wanders aimlessly until he comes across a strange graffitied message on a wall: “Don’t move … Stay still,” he reads aloud.
Suddenly, a horrifying creature making an even more horrifying sound (think: a warped, nightmare version of the ’90s AOL dial-up tone) appears. It begins to stalk the cameraman room by room as he attempts to navigate a maze of hallways, stairs and liminal spaces that seem to lead nowhere.
The Backrooms appears to take place in the early ’90s.
In this dream, some people were in maybe a maze-like virtual world (virtual reality) that some programmers were still working on, and those game developers were also making video games that you could play from within the virtual world.
I had some interesting and detailed and deep dreams last night, I failed to voice record them the first time that I woke up, and the second time that I woke up so I forgot most of them and most of what was left after the third time that I woke up to finally voice record what I could remember even though I did not want to share them.
There was much more to this dream but I can not remember most of it and I did not want to share it so I forgot most of it, unfortunately, and the dream took place during the day.
