11.22.63

What is it?

The 2016 American science fiction thriller miniseries 11.22.63 that was based on the book 11/22/63 by Stephen King.

What is it about?

This is how Hulu describes this miniseries:

Imagine having the power to change history.

Would you journey down the “rabbit hole?” This eight –part event series follows Jake Epping (James Franco), an ordinary high school teacher, presented with the unthinkable mission of traveling back in time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

Jake travels to the past in order to solve the most enduring mystery of the 20th century: who killed JFK, and could it have been stopped?

But as Jake will learn, the past does not want to be changed.

And trying to divert the course of history may prove fatal.

Final Thoughts

The visual quality and acting in this miniseries was better than I had expected, but they changed so much from the book that they messed things up in my opinion.

I think that it was a mistake for them to change so many things, it basically became its own thing in some ways, it would have been better if they had followed the book more closely without contradicting parts of it.

They created characters who did not exist, they changed some characters, they changed the order of some events, they skipped some things that I think were worth showing and they even referenced a few things confusingly without explanation, they had some characters doing and saying things that they did not do or say and that conflicts with their character in the book, et cetera.

Even with them messing up with those things, I would still give it a 3.5, and one part near the end made me tear up a bit to my surprise; but the book is without a doubt better than this miniseries.

The end,

A Dream Inspired By The 10th Kingdom?

Last night I remembered part of a memory from many years ago when my former male classmate JC, my former male classmate DH, maybe a few others, and I tried to watch the entire miniseries called The 10th Kingdom in one sitting (over 6 hours) at The B Dorms at M College.

My former classmate JC had the miniseries on DVD, everyone went to sleep before the miniseries was finished except for maybe my former classmate JC and I, but it is possible that one or both of us did not finish watching it in one sitting either; but I can not remember.

Anyway, this memory caused me to barely remember part of what it possibly a dream that I had those many years ago after watching that miniseries, and so I assume that this memory is from maybe the year 2004 or 2005 but I could be wrong.

If this is a dream like I assume, then I remember the dream taking place during the day at a castle where The Evil Queen (Christine White) lived, and Virginia Lewis and maybe some other people were there (maybe Wendell White (Prince Wendell)); and The Evil Queen probably had her guards trying to kill Virginia and anyone with her.

So there was running, hiding, and fighting around the castle; and I remember maybe Wolf in what I assume was his transformed state (wolf form/werewolf form/whatever, if he could even transform at all) or a werewolf moving around the edge of a barn/basement-like ceiling in a room with maybe some hay on the ground.

Wolf or the werewolf was moving around partly on all fours pacing back and forth maybe, and during the dream I got to see different parts and floors of the nice castle; but that is all that I can remember of what I assume was a memory of a dream from many years ago.

The end,
