The 2012 American science fiction action film Total Recall.
What is it about?
This is how Metacritic describes this movie:
“Total Recall” is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick.
Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories.
For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid, even though he’s got a beautiful wife who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs.
But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man.
Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen, the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter to find the head of the underground resistance and stop Cohaagen.
The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. (Columbia Pictures)
My Thoughts
I think that I saw this movie in a movie theater back when it came out in 2012, and maybe my brother GC and/or one or more of my brothers watched it with me.
I have not seen the original Total Recall yet unfortunately, and so I had nothing to compare this movie to.
Critics did not like it, but I did not hate it and I thought that this movie was okay.
Colin Farrell did an okay job, I liked Kate Beckinsale’s performance and her character, and this movie had a lot of action.

The 2002 American science fiction movie Impostor that was based on the short story Impostor by Philip K. Dick.
What is it about?

The year is 2079.
The earth has been at war with an alien force for over a decade.
Spencer Olham is a lauded government scientist whose latest work promises to save the planet.
But suddenly he is accused of being an alien spy, and becomes the subject of a nationwide manhunt.
Olham is faced with a two-tiered dilemma- can he prove his identity to the secret police in time to help mankind?
Can he ultimately prove his identity to himself?
What do I like about it and what might other people like about it?
I probably liked that this movie was better than I had expected and I liked the surprise twist at the end, and I think that other people might like that as well.
Final Thoughts
I had completely forgotten about this movie until my brother GC started mentioning a movie that we had seen years ago that he could not remember the name of, we had just finished watching the episode Kill All Others from the television show Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, and that episode reminded him of this movie in some ways.
We figured out the name of the movie and I looked it up, and barely a few pieces of my memory of it came back to my mind.
We both (maybe one or more of my other brothers saw it as well) saw this movie once years ago when it was probably on television, we probably were flipping through channels when it was coming on and so we started watching it, and I think that the movie was better than we had expected and it kept our attention and it ended with a surprise twist.
