Automattic Acquires Tumblr Plans To Rebuild The Backend Powered By WordPress

Recently WordPress Tavern had a post about Automattic acquiring Tumblr called: Automattic Acquires Tumblr Plans To Rebuild The Backend Powered By WordPress.

I was not expecting that at all, I am not sure if this was a good idea or not to acquire a dying brand, but I am curious to see what happens.

Automattic owns WordPress and WordPress.com et cetera, Tumblr was one of its competitors, and so this should be interesting regardless of whether it fails or not.

Google+ Shutting Down After Data Leak Affecting 500000 Users

Source: YouTube

Today Ars Technica had a news article called: Google+ Shutting Down After Data Leak Affecting 500000 Users.

This is disappointing news on several fronts, I am disappointed in Google for not disclosing the data leak back when it happened, and I am disappointed with Google’s decision for Google+.

RIP (rest in peace) Google+, and I think that Google should be punished for this and that they should be required to report situations like data leaks et cetera in the future.

John Jr Is Now On Facebook And Twitter

The other day True George suggested that I create a Facebook (Fakebook) page and / or Twitter (Switter (which comes from the word Swit from the video game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind)) page, I use(d) to have an account on both of those social networks years ago and those social networks did not meet my needs or expectations so I deleted my accounts on those two services, but I had been considering creating accounts on those two social networks again one day so that I could connect them to my WordPress.com account using the Publicize option so that an excerpt of my WordPress.com posts can automatically be sent to those services when I make a post.
