Sarah, a beautiful and intelligent 30-year-old, has everything to succeed.
But her fear of banality keeps her in a permanent state of inertia.
One day, she wakes up in an unknown suburban house after a complete blackout.
Helpless, she calls her friend Catherine and lands, against her will, in a bachelorette party with old acquaintances.
As the night unfolds and the tension builds, Sarah’s pursuit of authenticity leads to a merciless climax where secrets are unveiled, and friendships, destroyed.
I was glancing at the Vimeo Staff Picks when the thumbnail for this short film / video caught my attention for some unknown reason, and so I decided to click on it and I ended up watching the entire short film because it caught my attention as I listened to how the French was pronounced and some of the few English words in it while also keeping up with the English subtitles.
This short film managed to keep my attention until the end as it followed Sarah’s journey after she wakes up in bed in an unknown house in an unknown neighborhood not sure of what happened exactly or how she got there et cetera.
This short film presents several social situations, including one with a friend and old acquaintances, where tension builds; and it made me wonder what it might be like if me and some old acquaintances were to meet under circumstances like that, and it was interesting getting to see an example of some social situations that some people go through and how some people react in those situations.
A mysterious encounter between a man who claims to be from the future and the man that he claims is his former self.
What do I like about it and what might other people like about it?
I like how they managed to take this somewhat complex idea and make a simple contained short film, and I think that other people might like that as well.
This was one of those short films that I saw in the past that I had forgotten about until I was editing one of my old dream posts, there are a few other short films that I have seen that I have not done posts about yet, and there are some that I have possibly forgotten about.
After a sniper’s mission is compromised, he must rely on his deadbeat housemate to see him through.
