Anders Norén To Design Twenty Twenty Default Theme Shipping In WordPress 5.3

Recently Sarah Gooding reported some good news at the WordPress Tavern about the upcoming Twenty Twenty default WordPress theme to be released in WordPress 5.3 in a post called Anders Norén To Design Twenty Twenty Default Theme Shipping In WordPress 5.3.

This is great news, Anders Norén has made some good free themes that I would be using today if they had some of the newer features and some options that I need in a theme, and so I am more hopeful that he will make a usable default WordPress theme.

I have been disappointed in the last several default WordPress themes, and so I hope that he can finally make one that I can use again.

Please have an excerpt option, please have the option to automatically show the first image in a post, please keep each section in the header on a separate line, please have a large enough site image, please have an image header option with new default images, please use large and thick and readable enough fonts, et cetera.

The end,

Automattic Acquires Tumblr Plans To Rebuild The Backend Powered By WordPress

Recently WordPress Tavern had a post about Automattic acquiring Tumblr called: Automattic Acquires Tumblr Plans To Rebuild The Backend Powered By WordPress.

I was not expecting that at all, I am not sure if this was a good idea or not to acquire a dying brand, but I am curious to see what happens.

Automattic owns WordPress and WordPress.com et cetera, Tumblr was one of its competitors, and so this should be interesting regardless of whether it fails or not.

Default WordPress Theme Twenty Seventeen Demo Has Been Released

Some of you may know that for several years in a row now I have tried to keep up with news on the default themes for WordPress each year, throughout each year I do random web (internet) searches, and I search through various official and unofficial Automattic/WordPress blogs and websites including some that belong to some staff members (employees) trying to get early news about the default themes for WordPress each year.

This is usually not easy and finding this information is usually hard because most of those blogs/websites do not talk about this usually, except some of the WordPress.org blogs/websites, which I usually do not look at or follow because I am only a WordPress.com user with a free account so that led to the Twenty Thirteen theme slipping under my radar even when I had tried to find information about it so I was surprised when it was released suddenly years ago without my knowledge of it even being worked on yet or discussed yet.
